Which public transport is permitted?
All means of local public transport are permitted (e.g. subway/U-Bahn, S-Bahn, regional train or tram).
Long-distance public transport is excluded (i.e. IC, EC, ICE, Thalys, TGV, Flixbus, etc.).
Cab, eScooter, eBikes, car sharing, airplane, etc. do not count as public transport and are also excluded.
The definition by the tax authorities is an exclusion procedure as to which means of transport are not eligible for public transport.
